Paul Pellman

Interim President

 

Paul Pellman was appointed as Interim President of Hoover’s in November 2006. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the company’s initiatives and for driving Hoover’s overall strategy. Paul joined Hoover’s in April 2004 as Vice President of Marketing, and was promoted to Executive Vice President of Marketing in January 2005. As EVP of Marketing, Paul was responsible for the leadership of Hoover’s brand development and marketing initiatives, including customer acquisition and retention, research, strategy, product positioning, licensing, traffic-oriented business development and marketing communications.

 

Prior to joining Hoover’s, Pellman was with the global Internet group Terra Lycos, where he served as Vice President of Consumer Direct. While there, he was responsible for all U.S. online and direct marketing acquisition, conversion and retention marketing efforts to generate and retain qualified subscribers across all Lycos subscription properties.

 

Pellman began his career as a senior consultant with a Big Eight accounting firm, and later joined former direct marketing giant CUC International as Product Manager, where he managed various membership services through a variety of direct response channels. He worked across many business units and held several positions of increasing responsibility, leading up to his role as Senior Vice President for the North American Outdoor Group, a newly acquired business unit where Pellman was instrumental in helping to integrate the two businesses. In addition to marketing experience, Pellman has served in a number of general management roles, including CEO for two early stage start-ups.

 

He holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Harvard University.
