BIOGRAPHY

 

Richard T. (Dick) Kaser is the Vice President of Content for Information Today, Inc. (ITI).  Dick directs the content for ITI periodicals, reference group products, and conferences—all aimed at information professionals and the library community.  Publications under his general direction include Information Today, Searcher, ONLINE, KMWorld, EContent, Streaming Media, CRM, Speech Technology, American Library Directory, Literary Marketplace, and Computers in Libraries.  He also generally oversees programming activities for ITI’s conferences, including the KMWorld/Intranets, Internet Librarian, and Buying & Selling EContent shows.  Prior to joining ITI in 2001, Dick served as the Executive Director of  NFAIS (formerly known as the National Federation of Abstracting and Information Services) for seven years.  He held prior management positions with the Macmillan Electronic Publishing Group, including BRS, ORBIT, MDL, and Macmillan New Media; and, prior to that, Chemical Abstracts Service and STN International.  He has 25 years of experience in the information industry.  Published widely—from scholarly journals to the popular press—he observes and comments frequently on the industry.  He holds a B.S., summa cum laude, and with Honors in Journalism, from Ohio University and an M.A. in international communications from Ohio State.
